Looking for some simple, interactive ways to engage people about the health effects of sugar-sweetened beverages? CANFIT has the answer.
Funded by a grant from Healthy Berkeley and the Lifelong Medical Care, CANFIT developed 3 unique trainings for adolescents, parents/caregivers, and staff of youth agencies. These lessons are simple, flexible and designed to engage people in community settings in discussions about sugar-sweetened beverage topics such as taxation issues, strategies to decrease consumption, how to determine how much sugar is in your drink, and ways to use social media and messaging to change community norms. Each lesson is 40-90 minutes long, and can be taught in segments or as a whole. Although a PowerPoint presentation is included in the materials, you don’t need to use audio-visual equipment to be effective.
A PDF of the slide presentation is also available.
