CANFIT has exciting opportunities for students wishing to gain knowledge around program and policy work that focuses on improving nutrition and physical activity for underserved communities.
CANFIT strives to make the intern experience unique and rewarding for students. An internship with CANFIT will consist of:
- Exposure to local, state and national policy work focusing on nutrition and physical activity
- Working on culturally-relevant projects – Students may also be asked to create materials or programs that fit within the CANFIT mission
- Field site visits (community work, conferences, youth projects, presentations, etc)
Qualifications
Junior or senior level student working towards a Baccalaureate or Master degree in public health, community health, nutrition, recreation, health education, health promotion or related field from an accredited college or university; good oral communication and written skills to instruct and interact effectively with a diverse group of individuals.
