Recipes for SuccessNutrition and Physical Activity Workshop
If so, then this is the workshop for you. This interactive, hands-on workshop is designed for youth providers who work with low income, multi-ethnic youth ages 10-14. The workshop features nutrition and physical activities and games that have been tested and proven effective with adolescent audiences. Participate and learn effective strategies for improving the nutrition and physical fitness status of the youth you serve and how to implement the many resources in the CANFit Super Manual. What To Expect:Attendees will participate in a four-hour "hands-on" workshop where they will learn how to plan fun, educational and culturally-appropriate nutrition and fitness activities and tips for choosing and planning nutritious and delicious reimbursable snacks for youths ages 10-14.Participants will receive a certificate of completion and numerous handouts on nutrition and fitness activities, recipes, shopping lists and sample menus. Topics Covered:Nutrition -adolescent needs, reading food labels, what makes food a healthy choice, sample activities.Physical Activity -guidelines for adolescents, sample games and management strategies. Body Image -role of mass media, peers and family influences, sample activities. Healthy Snacks -guidelines for reimbursement, snack tips, taste tests.
