After School Guidelines Feasibility Training
After School Nutrition & Physical Activity Guidelines Feasibility Training - Saturday, July 11, 2009
After school staff members have the power to make daily physical activity accessible and engaging for every student and to help all youth in after school programs discover the many benefits and joys of physical activity.
CANFIT Program Director Lloyd Nadal and Siamac Ehsan will present a training to the USC Neighborhood Academic Initiative’s Community Education Academy staff (USC NAI) in Los Angeles about the California Department of Education’s (CDE) Nutrition and Physical Activity Guidelines for after school programs.
CANFIT partnered with the USC NAI to field test the implementation of the CDE guidelines made possible through funds from the Rosalinde and Arthur Gilbert Foundation. The information gained from this project will help after school programs around the state implement quality physical activity and provide healthy snacks for their youth.
